U-RETRO

The U-RETRO 01, based on the J-RETRO 01 is a universal highly flexible on-board dual input preamp and EQ system. The standard pots have 10.0mm threaded bushes to allow rear mounting in the wood of a bass body, or 6.0mm bushes, for plate or scratch plate mounting, can be supplied to special order. Flat wire connections to the pots and toggle switches allow for flexible layout.

Its high quality circuit uses three stacked knobs and includes an active blend circuit plus a 3 band equaliser with bass, variable frequency mid, treble and bright function. The active blend circuit prevents the loss associated with many passive basses where, when both pickups are up full, the signal from one pickup feeds into the other and vice versa. However, a switch is included to allow a passive equal mix of both pickups as this can give a subtle difference in sound. A second switch allows some basic passive modes with lots of useful settings too.

Each pickup input has its own individual input amplifier, each with a gain trim adjustment preset. This means that pickups of different types and output levels can be readily matched without compromise.
HARDWARE: Chrome, Black or Gold finish.

PASSIVE TONE OPTION: An additional Passive Tone pot can be supplied wired, which functions in both active and passive modes.

POWER REQUIREMENTS: 9-18V, 2.5mA

The U-RETRO 01 5 KNOB DELUXE bass pre, based on the J-RETRO 01, is a universal highly flexible on-board preamp and 3 band EQ system. Its high quality circuit uses three single knobs and two dual concentric knob stacks.

Unlike the J-Retro, its blend is passive in order that the blend function is available in both active and passive. The 3 band equaliser section includes bass, variable frequency mid, treble and bright function. A passive tone
operates in both active and passive modes, and includes a push/pull switch to set the system active or passive.

Of course the U-Retro can be installed in a Precision Bass. Here we see the U-Retro deluxe in a Fender American Deluxe Precision.
Here we have the U-Retro deluxe in a Hot Wire Prezz 5.
If you arrange the circuit board and the wires in a clever way, the U-Retro will fit almost any bass.
